Shakespeare Competition

The aim of the Shakespeare Competition is to provide friendly rivalry throughout the year by a series of competitive races, held on the first Wednesday of every month.

Club members (usually in pairs) volunteer to organise the races themselves, and provide information via e mail or the noticeboard at least two weeks in advance (date, venue, start time, route description and/or map if possible and parking arrangements if necessary).

Grand Prix Competition

The competition consists of a series of events selected by the Grand Prix Secretary at the beginning of the year. These will cover a range of distances and terrains from 5K to full Marathons that take place throughout the year.

Members may compete in as many races as they wish, with their best 8 races counting in the competition. Points are awarded according to where club members finish relative to each other. Club colours must be worn to all events to qualify for points.

Warwickshire Road Race League (WRRL)

The league is organised by the Warwickshire County Athletic Association (WCAA). It consists of a number of road races over a range of distances throughout the year and our own Summer 6 is one of the races included in this series.

The best of 6 count towards the team prizes, whilst the best of 5 count towards the individual prizes.

There are approx 12 Warwickshire clubs who compete in this league and we have had a small amount of success in the past. With a little extra participation we could get amongst the prizes and as a club we hope to give this a greater profile in 2011. To encourage members to participate we have included some of these races into our Grand Prix competition.
